Dit Emporio Armani project is gelegen te Hong Kong. De architecten achter dit onorthodox en futuristisch bouwwerk zijn Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas. (zij ontwierpen onder meer de Zenith Music Hall)

Pure luxe..

The architecture and urban design firm A-cero, led by Joaquin Torres, has undertaken the project of a hotel and luxury residential complex covering an area of 1,400 hectares in the coastal district of Cumayasa in the Dominican Republic.

The project consists of more than 3,000 luxury villas, 3 hotels, 4 golf courses and a marina, providing a place to enjoy a variety of water sports, tennis and ecotourism, in addition to its unparalleled greens for golf lovers.

2008 eVolo Skyscraper Competition

De eVolo 08 Skyscraper Competitie is ten einde.

The idea of the competition is to continue exploring on new ideas and concepts for vertical density (...) There is no restriction on site, height or shape. The idea is to give the designers enough freedom to address the challenge and innovative way.

Visual Building, Hong Kong

The Visual Builidng is a new piece of Cybertecture that deals with the changing nature of buildings in the city. This mix commercial/retail building comprises of an intelligent skin that allows for it to change like a information lantern creating Art in the City, Information in the City, or Nature in the City.

Everland Hotel

Oorspronkelijk door het duo Lang/Baumann ontworpen als concept voor de Expo 2002 in Zwitserland, inmiddels een mobiel hotel dat al meerdere locaties heeft gehad. Everland is een hotel met slechts één kamer, bestaande uit een badkamer, king-size bed en een lounge. Ontbijt wordt aan de deur geleverd en er is een platencollectie beschikbaar. De kamer kan alleen voor een enkele nacht geboekt worden vanaf €333.

Momenteel bevindt het hotel zich bovenop het Palais de Tokyo in Parijs, met uitzicht op de Eiffeltoren! Eerdere locaties waren in Yverdon en op het dak van het Museum of Contemporary Art Leipzig.

Seattle Public Library

Kleine kans dat mensen hun boeken te laat inleveren met zo'n bibliotheek in de buurt! Wat een gebouw. Dit staaltje architectuur is overigens ontworpen door niemand minder dan de Nederlandse architect Rem Koolhaas.

Ontario College of Art & Design

Wikipedia leert dat de studenten aan het Ontario College of Art & Design het hier onder afgebeelde Sharp Centre for Design ook wel de Box of Doom noemen. Een beetje meer waardering is misschien wel op z'n plaats, want het is een schitterend ontwerp van de Britse architect Will Alsop en Robbie/Young + Wright Architects Inc. waar ik maar al te graag m'n lessen zou volgen! Het gebouw staat op 26 meter hoogte, ondersteund door 12 opvallend gekleurde pilaren die langer zijn dan het gebouw zelf. Inmiddels is het ontwerp al beloond met meerdere architectuurprijzen.

Milanees cafe/winkelcentrum/hotspot 10 Corso Como opent 20 maart een vestiging in Seoul. Ben benieuwd welke architect hier achter zit!
